We provide captioning for large conferences using bespoke software. Captions appear as two or three lines of scrolling subtitles overlaid on live video. Clients have full control over positioning and formatting of text, including colours used.
We have provided services for UNISON, the RCN and the Microsoft Decoded Conference.
We can also provide this service for AGMs and Council meetings if you need to live stream events for people unable to attend the event in person and wish to attend online; we currently provide this service for all Waitrose & John Lewis Council meetings.
We also supply STTRs for one-to-one meetings on site, where deaf/hard of hearing users need access in day-to-day business meetings. The STTR will attend with their laptop and the user of the service views the subtitles in a more discrete manner.
Another option for speech to text users is to access meetings or events remotely. In such cases the STTR works from home and dials into the meeting, and the client can then access the STTR's screen from wherever they wish and follow the meeting from there. There are various applications that can enable this, including Streamtext and JetStream. Clients can also use GoToMeeting, which means they have access to sound and don't need to worry about making a separate phone call, instead simply using the microphone from their own computer.
